About BlueStreet Voices

SUMMARY

BlueStreet Voices is an 18-voice vocal jazz ensemble based in Seattle, WA.  The group, with its 4-piece band, presents arrangements in four-to-six-part harmony and performs everything from swinging popular jazz standards to creatively arranged contemporary hits with styles that include Latin, blues, gospel, and rich ballads.  BlueStreet is directed by Dave Barduhn, a nationally renowned director, musician, and arranger.  Each year, the group produces three anchor shows culminating with their flagship finale at The Triple Door mainstage in early June.

MISSION

BlueStreet Voices is an IRS 501c (3) non-profit performing arts organization with a mission to promote vocal jazz education and music across their communities, and provide high-quality, entertaining musical experiences for audiences and performers alike.

MORE ABOUT US

BlueStreet serves multiple demographics across Puget Sound as we engage the community broadly through our activities and programming.  For students, BlueStreet hosts educational workshops, collaborates, and shares the stage with student performing groups.  We also offer discounted student pricing at our self-produced concerts.  For seniors we provide low-cost programs at local retirement communities and offer discounted concert pricing within King County and the surrounding region. For our members, we offer diverse musical experiences through weekly group rehearsals, focused sectionals, jazz festival clinics and judged performances, soloist opportunities, studying, and performing first-rate vocal jazz literature with an inspirational director and premier accompanist.

BlueStreet is a tight knit family of local musicians who gather to prepare exciting, high-quality performances that preserve and expand the traditions of vocal jazz in the Northwest. Our singers come from a variety of musical backgrounds ranging from classical to jazz and reside in communities from Auburn to Everett. Many of our members are music teachers, accomplished instrumentalists, and arrangers. We collaborate with many talented local musicians who perform alongside the singers, provide master classes, and write arrangements for the group.

Our supporters include organizations in King County such as 4Culture, Washington Arts Commission, ArtsWA, WA State Department of Commerce and Seattle Office of Arts & Culture as well as a network of devoted fans and volunteers. This network includes colleagues, friends, family, former members of BlueStreet Voices, and live jazz enthusiasts in the pacific northwest.

BlueStreet does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, nationality, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, age, religion, or ethnic origin in auditions, invitations to sing, performance venues, scholarships, or related activities associated with the organization.

Finally, our audience includes residents from all demographics in King County and surrounding areas seeking a polished and entertaining musical experience.  In short, we put on a show, a real curated show, come see us, you will enjoy yourself!

BlueStreet Voices is available for private performances.  Put a little jazz in your next event or host a concert of your own.  For more information, please contact us at (206) 739-7558 or bluestreetseattle@gmail.com.
